A Post-Holiday Reminder You Might Really Need Today

Hi friends,

The Thanksgiving weekend is officially behind us — and if your routine felt a little loose these last few days, you’re not alone.
Maybe you enjoyed foods you don’t typically eat… maybe movement took a backseat… maybe the travel, family time, or schedule changes threw off your usual rhythm.

All of that is normal.
All of that is human.
And none of it erases the progress you’ve made.

This week isn’t about “making up for” anything — it’s about gently returning to the habits that help you feel your best.

One Weekend Doesn’t Define Your Journey

Your results come from what you do most of the time — not what happens over one holiday.
Your body responds to consistency, not perfection.
And consistency isn’t broken by a few days of celebration.

Take a Moment to Reflect (Not Criticize)

Now is a perfect time to pause and learn from the past few days:

  • What went well
Did you enjoy your favorite foods without guilt? Did you carve out movement? Did you listen to your body?

  • What felt challenging
Emotional eating? Skipped meals? Constant much grazing?

  • What would you like to carry into the next holiday
More structure? Better snacks? A walk before or after meals?

  • What might you do differently heading into Christmas and the New Year
This isn’t about judgment — it’s about experimenting with strategies that will support you moving forward.

Think of this season as data-gathering. You get to use this awareness to create a holiday experience that feels good — not stressful — as we move toward the next celebration.

Today Is a Fresh Start

To ease back into your routine, focus on simple, supportive habits that help you feel grounded again:

  1. Hydrate before anything else

  2. Prioritize a protein-forward breakfast

  3. Add gentle movement

  4. Plan balanced meals

  5. Get back to normal structure

Be Kind to Yourself

If you’re feeling bloated, tired, or out of routine today…
You didn’t mess up. You lived your life, shared meals, celebrated, and connected — and that matters for your health too.

Self-compassion moves progress forward faster than guilt ever will.
